ATTACHMENT 10

FPR 99-502
Flood Insurance Study, City of Englewood, Colorado, dated December 15,
1979.

KEY ISSUES:
. The 1979 FIS revised the 1971 Type 15 FIS for the City of Englewood.

. The 1979 FIS included detailed and approximate floodplain information for Little Dry Creek, Big Dry
Creek and the South Platte River.

. The 1979 FIS was subsequently revised by the 1989 FIS for Arapahoe County and Incorporated Areas
(previously designated).

COMMUNITY RESPONSE:
The City of Englewood sent a letter to the CWCB requesting formal acknowledgement of the
December 15, 1979 FIS. A telephone conversation was held with representatives of the city to
discuss the designation process, and it was determined that uo meeting was required because
aU pertinent issues and questions had already been addressed at previous meetings. The city
is supportive of the Board's proposed designation action.

SUMMARY:
The staff recommends Board approval of the floodplain resolution for the City of Englewood
formally acknowledging the Flood Insurance Study dated December 15, 1979. The detailed and
approximate floodplain information contained in the FIS meets the Board's "Floodplain
Designation and Approval Rules". The designation action will assure that previously prepared
floodplain information for City of Englewood is explicitly approved by the state, thereby
complying with state statutory requirements.

14

>

.

e

e

e
