The FIS contains detailed and approximate floodplain information for various streams in the city. <br /> <br />. The FIS incorporates LOMRs for West Lake Channel and West Lake Channel North Tributary, for <br />Nissen Reservoir No. 2 spillway and Nissen Reservoir No. 2 Downstream Channel, for City Park <br />Channel, and for West Lake Channel. <br /> <br />. The LOMRs are based on various structural projects, including channelization, detention, and new <br />crossing structnres. Some of the LOMRs include new hydrologic analyses and new topographic <br />information. All of them include new hydraulic analyses. <br /> <br />. The FIS also reflects newly annexed areas within Broomfield that were formerly part of unincorporated <br />Weld County or unincorporated Adams County. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY RESPONSE: <br />The City of Broomfield sent a letter requesting ewCB designation and approval of the <br />September 30, 1997 FIS. CWCB staff discussed the designation with the City's Floodplain <br />Administrator via telephone conversations and a meeting. The City is supportive of the <br />Board's proposed designation and approval of the 1997 FIS. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br />The staff recommends Board approval of the floodplain resolution for Broomfield. The floodplain <br />information contained in the 1997 FIS and the accompanying FIRMs will be designated as detailed <br />and approximate information. The FIS meets the Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval <br />Rules" for detailed and approximate floodplain information. The resolution will assure that the <br />city's most current floodplain information complies with state statutory requirements. <br /> <br />11 <br />
