We will now go to item 3 on the agenda -
the Basalt Project. If you will refer to a
memorandum dated August 27th from Larry, he
suggested that a resolution in the following
general terms be adopted:

'RESOLVEP that Region 4, Bureau of
Reclamation, be requested to conduct the
necessary feasibility investigations of the
Cattle Creek and Sopris projects as partici-
pating projects under Public Law 485 as set
forth in the supplemental Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project report now being prepared, and that
such investigations commence within a period
of two years from the date of Congressional
authorization of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Proj-
ect with a view of completing such investiga-
tions, if possible, prior to the construction
of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project.'

Larry, will you bring us up to date on
this resolution?"

"The supplemental report on the Frying-
pan-Arkansas Project has been prepared and
the final review on that report will be done
tomorrow morning in Denver at the office of
Region 7. -We don't anticipate there will be
any difficulty with the project report. The
report will be promptly" forwarded to the
Secretary of the Interior. The report is
very favorable, showing a benefit-cost ratio
on the Ruedi Re'ser-voir of a little better
than 3 to 1.

Included in that report is a reconnais-
sance summary of two possible irrigation
projects which could utilize water from the
Ruedi Reservoir. In order to schedule those
