<br />.10.1'<: <br /> <br />'WHEREAS, the economic justification <br />and feasibility of the Curecanti Project <br />has been determined by the Secretary of <br />the Interior, as required by Public Law <br />485; and . <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, the other three storage reser- I <br />voirs authorized for construction by Public <br />Law 485 are now under construction, and the <br />economic justification and feasibility of the <br />Curecanti Project having been established by <br />the Secretary of the Interior, said reservoir <br />should enjoy the same status as do Glen Can- <br />yon, Flaming Gorge and Navajo, and by appro- <br />priation therefor, be placed under construc- <br />tion at once; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, no good or equitable reason <br />exists for discrimination against the State <br />of Colorado, which would result if Congress' <br />failed to appropriate money for the initia- <br />tion of construction of Curecanti in fiscal <br />year 1961; and <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the water to be stored and the <br />electric energy to be generated by the Cure- <br />canti Project will be critically needed by <br />the State of Colorado, even if said project <br />be completed with all possible speed. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colo- <br />rado Water Conservation Board this 16th day <br />of September, 1959, that the Secretary of <br />the Interior, the Commissioner of Reclama- <br />tion, the Upper Colorado River Commission <br />and Colorado's Congressional delegation be <br />urged to make every effort to secure, at <br />the earliest possible date, appropriations <br />by Congress to initiate construction of the <br />Curecanti Project.' <br /> <br /> Gentlemen, that is the suggested reso- <br /> lution." <br />MR-.
