<br />~_~J <br /> <br />Dam Northwestern Engineering Company began <br />diversion of Rifle Creek through the outlet <br />works on June 23. Embankment placement has <br />been initiated on the right abutment. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Grouting of the foundation is virtually <br />complete. The concrete work has been pro- <br />gressing well-the spillway slab placement is <br />practically to the crest. June earnings will <br />exceed earlier estimates with the dam now <br />being 68 percent complete. It appears that <br />the dam and road relocation work will be com- <br />pleted on schedule--early in 1967. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The silt Pump Canal is estimated as being <br />97 percent complete with only one large siphon <br />to be repaired and minor construction work. <br />The Davie Ditch is at 83 percent completion <br />with all sipbons and pipelines completed and <br />95 percent of the structures. The remaining <br />work consists of canal earthwork and lining. <br />Dry Elk Lateral is essentially complete. work <br />on rehabilitation of Grass Valley Canal has <br />been delayed until water is turned out of the <br />canal July 15. Clearing and other preparatory <br />work has been initiated for this canal. The <br />Lee Johnson contract for construction of Dry <br />Elk Valley Lateral and the Grass Valley Canal <br />work is listed at 36 percent complete. Good <br />progress is being made on placement of con- <br />crete for the silt pumping Plant. The pump <br />manifold has been encased and the discharge <br />line complete. All concrete foundation work <br />in the switchyards has been completed and back- <br />filling is virtually complete. The pumping <br />plant is listed at 48 percent complete. The <br />only major contracts contemplated for award <br />this summer include one for clearing and fenc- <br />ing of Rifle Gap Reservoir and for construction <br />of the initial drain in the project area. <br /> <br />The transmission line construction program <br />has reached its lowest level in several years <br />and all major transmission lines will be com- <br />pleted this year except the poncha-Midway sec- <br />tion of the curecanti-Midway 230-kv line.
