In presenting a resolution sent by the Breen Grange
to Governor Thornton and forwarded to his office, Mr. Crawford
stated that he had answered informing the Master of the
Grange that it would be placed on the agenda for consideration
at this time. The resolution reads as follows:

Breen, Colorado
February 27, 1953

Governor Dan Thornton
Denver, Colorado

The Breen Grange, of Breen, Colorado, being an org~
anization of 160 agricultural members who live in the western
section of La Plata county and whose farms and ranches are
directly affected by the LaPlata-Animas River diversion do
hereby urge your full support in the development of this
project.

I

This area has needed additional irrigation water
for many years but nothing definite has been accomplished
beyond surveys, data gathering and talk. The roil in this
section is clamred among the best in the State of Colorado
and could produce abundant crops with enough additional
water for one complete irrigation.

Therefore, we urge immediate action, whatever is
required, to have this vital water diversion project included
in the program for early development. .
