Mr. Hinkley stated that the University of Colorado
would require a written contract, and the approval of
various State Officials. That type of contract he said,
is for special services, and would have to go through
that. routine. He added that he was sure Mr. Crawford
knew this.

Chairman Bailey then asked if there was anything
further to discuss regarding the activities of the
Conference Committee.

Mr. Beaty asked who the five Engineering Consultants
were. Mr. Crawford gave the names of the following
prospective Engineering Consultants: W. F. Guyton, Joseph
L. Burkholder, Barry Dibble, William Day Shannon, Raymond
Hill, and Robert Lee Lowry.

Mr. Dutcher stated, ffThe Engineering Research Committee
will do the work in getting the dat~and will ~eport, possibly
in tenative form, and submit this to the Engineering con-
sultants (will probably work with them). Outsi~e ~gineering
firm will make a report.ff

Mr. Dille questioned whether function is to correlate
information and make final report to present to the Board.

Mr. Dutcher replied fflt is an independent review organ-
ization."

Mr. Pughe asked if we could have partial reports as we
go along?

Mr. Crawford replied that "We are depending for by far
the greatest portion of our really basic data on the Rec-
lamation service and from the U.S.G.S. and the Bureau of
Mines ."

. Mr. Riter will make every possible effort .to get the
data out on time. He could be brought to Board to inform
the members as to what progress is being made."

Mr. Bailey remarked that .every member of the Board
should be furnished with a copy of the Minutes of the
Conference Committee.
