<br />141 <br /> <br />persons which Mr. Dutcher mentioned in his motion, and <br />then provide that anyone unable to attend a Committee meet- <br />ing'himself designate a proxy to act for him. <br />- . . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Dutcher asked if meeting of Conference Committee <br />would be held next Tuesday adding tnat Water Board expects <br />developments in fairly near future. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawford answered that Water Board will meet in <br />2 or 3 weeks. <br /> <br />Mr. Dutcher suggested ratifying and confirming the members <br />of the Committee as it now stands, 5 members, with the general <br />understanding that we confirm the substitutes at the next <br />regular Board meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Dutcher made a motion that the Colorado Conference <br />Committee's membership consist of the following: <br /> <br />Chairman - George J. Bailey, Alternate: Mr. Crawford <br /> <br />Eastern Colo: N. R. Petry <br />H. H. Christy <br /> <br />Western Colo: George Cory <br />Robert Delaney <br /> <br />Mr. Dille seconded the motion and it was unanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br />5. Mr. Crawford: "The Bureau of Business Research of the <br />University of Colorado was selected to make an economic and <br />industrial survey on the Western Slope~ and was given authority <br />to spend the amount of $1500 within 30 days from April 16, 1953 <br />the date on which the Conference Co~~ittee made the selection. <br />Can we have that approved? The Committee understood it was <br />acting within its power when it made the arrangement." <br /> <br />Mr. Dille stated he thought it was feasible to have all I <br />expenditures approved by the Board and that they should first ' <br />be brought before the Board in the future. Board must keep <br />some of that responsibility, he added. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawford:replied that the Board could delegate that <br />responsibility to an executive committee; that the Conference <br />Committee would certainly welcome such action. <br /> <br />Mr. Saunders remarked that uIn ratifying the employing <br />of the University of Colorado business research group, he <br />
