The dam has an inadequate spillway and severe seepage through the embankment <br />and has had a storage restriction placed on it by the State Engineer. The Highland Ditch Company <br />has contracted with Smith Geotechnical Engineering Consultants of Fort Collins to analyze design <br />alternatives and complete construction plans and specifications. Construction is scheduled to <br />commence in the fall of 1999. <br /> <br />Minturn, Town of - Bolts Lake Darn and Ditch Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 96-153 <br />Water Source: Cross Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $360,000 @ 5.25% for 30 years <br /> <br />County: Eagle - S. of Minturn <br />Project Yield: 120 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The Town of Minturn has employed McLaughlin Water Engineers, Ltd. of Denver to <br />design the rehabilitation of the Bolt Lake Dam outlet works and supply ditch south of Minturn. <br />The project has been delayed due to complications associated with acquisition of project right-of- <br />way. The project has been tentatively re-scheduled for construction in 1999. <br /> <br />DNR - Division of Wildlife - Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facility <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 98-1 189 <br />Water Source: San Luis Valley Aquifers <br />Terms of Loan: $2,000,000 Grant <br /> <br />County: Alarnosa - W of Alamosa <br />Project Yield: N/A <br />Project Type: Aquatic Species Hatchery <br /> <br />This project is the construction of a Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facility just west of <br />Alamosa. The project is being managed and 60% funded by the Division of Wildlife. FishPro, Inc. <br />of Port Orchard, Washington has been selected to prepare the project design that will commence in <br />July 1998. Construction is scheduled to commence in June 1999 with completion scheduled for <br />June 2000. <br />
