The purpose of the core is to help develop an integrated hydrologic <br />and geologic framework for the Denver Basin aquifers. This will enable State, County, and <br />municipal planners to promote appropriate development of the Basin's water resources. This core- <br />drilling project is part of a three-year National Science Foundation research study that will focus on <br />the evolution of the Denver Basin and its landscapes. Collins <br />. Project Yield: 278 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Darn Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This project consists of the complete removal and replacement of the City of Greeley's <br />Twin Lakes earth embankment darn along its original location and alignment. ECI, Inc. of Denver <br />designed the project with the construction contract awarded to Zak Dirt of Longmont in June 1998. <br />Construction is scheduled for completion in December 1998. The City of Greeley has developed <br />alternative project fmancing and has requested that their $787,000 CWCB loan authorization be de- <br />authorized. <br /> <br />. <br />
