I

II

MR. MOSES:

MR. BARNARD,SR.:

~U~~

I talked to our congressional dele-
gation and our two Senators. Gentlemen,
I plead with you, the stature of Colorado
is certainly on the decline. This Board
must have some status and we must get be-
hind it. The chips are down and it's a lot
later than a lot of people think. I per-
sonally agree with Dave Miller's comment and
Mr. Peterson's that this statement that was
placed here is a rather quick action. The
urgency is great. I am asking if you
want something in writing from an official
entity, which the Conservancy District now is
to this Board, that the intent of the operat-
ing principles and the legislation on the
Fryingpan Project should be carried out. If
you do, I will assure you I will certainly
give every effort to get you that written
document. I thank you sir."

"Thank you, Mr. Christy. Anyone else
have anything he wants to add?'

"If I may impose on your time for just
a moment, I think the Colorado River Water
Conservation District and I, personally, should
clarify our position. You all know, of course,
that on April 11, 1956, the Bill on the Upper
Colorado River Storage Project and Participat-
ing Projects was signed by the President. The
