Essentially all of the material has been
placed in Zone 3 of the dam and the contrac-
tor is doing some work on the lining of the
spillway tunnels and outlet tunnels.

I

The diversion tunnel at Morrow Point Dam
was holed through on January 20th, and prepara-
tions are under way for placing a lining in
that tunnel. This lining is of a temporary
type as the tunnel will not be used after the
dam is finished. The open cut excavation for
the dam foundation and powerplant is continu-
ing. The access road, both to the crest and
to the powerplant,is well under way.

Also, most of the highway work is either
completed or under construction relocating
Highway 50 around Blue Mesa Reservoir. I
haven't been there recently but I understand
that the Colorado Department of Highways is
to award the fourth schedule on Highway 50.
They may have done it in the last four or five
days.

I

Now just a few items on our Transmission
Division. On an overall basis it is progress-
ing just about on schedule. The l38-kv line
from Flaming Gorge to Green Mountain is com-
pleted. However, that line is in service only
between Flaming Gorge and Vernal. This is due
to some delay in the securing of equipment at
Moon Lake-Rangely substation. Also at the Mt.
Harris substation. This is principally equip-
ment that the Colorado-Ute is to place in
those installations. The l15-kv line is com-
pleted between Salida and Montrose. The Glen
Canyon-Shiprock, Shiprock-Curecanti, and
Curecanti-Hayden lines are scheduled for com-
pletion this summer. The Pinnacle Peak-Mesa
transmission line is expected to be ready for
service by this spring.

We are encountering some delay on the
Glen Canyon-Pinnacle Peak lines. However, we
expect those will also be completed by late
summer.
