,j/':jU

As far as construction is concerned on
Glen Canyon, that has been moving along very
well. The prime contractor is essentially
finished. There is just a little bit of
cleanup work remaining. According to money as
a measure of the work it is 98 percent com-
plete. We are moving ahead rapidly with the
completion contractor - the contractor who
installs the electrical equipment. the gener-
ators, turbines. and so on. The first turbine
is scheduled to be ready to go on the line in
either the last part of July or the first part
of August.

I

Flaming Gorge is also essentially com-
pleted. The last of the three turbines was
checked out on February 12th and all three
units are now capable of commercial genera-
tion.

Releases from Glen Canyon have been in-
creased since about the 1st of the month to
4,000 c.f.s. Those releases are somewhat more
than the inflow but the reservoir is essentially
holding its own, making up the difference from
bank storage.

Navajo Reservoir is also experiencing
subnormal runoff and it is at a comparatively
low level.

Moving back to Glen Canyon, at least our
forecasts on the 1st of February are that our
runoff is going to be rather poor and we have
somewhat less than a fifty-fifty chance of
securing enough water to fill Glen to that
minimum pool. We hope very much that these
recent storms may have increased that forecast
until we won't have such a poor outlook.

I

On our Curecanti Unit. on the Blue Mesa
Dam and Reservoir, we are past the halfway
mark. The work has been going on somewhat
spasmodically because of the weather but the
work that is going on is the excavation of the
dam foundation and the powerplant access road.
