<br />I~ <br /> <br />for a status report on proposed fiscal year 81 appropriations. <br /> <br />Mr. Joe Hall, Regional Director for the Lower Missouri Region, <br /> <br />discussed projects proposed for his office. He announced thatx first, <br /> <br />he is being transferred to Sacramento, California. The new Regional <br /> <br />Director will be Mr. Billy Martin. <br /> <br />The first project discussed is the Fryingpan-Arkansas project. <br /> <br />While some aspects such as the Mount Elbert power plant are behind <br /> <br />schedule, other progress is continuing. The narrows unit is official- <br /> <br />ly under construction status but is,as everyone is aware, not pro- <br /> <br />gressing. He described the $200,000. transferred to the Department <br /> <br />of Natural Resources for an evaluation of alternate means of utili- <br /> <br />zing Colorado's share of the South Plattex River water. <br /> <br />He then mentioned construction prol~cts for enlargement of <br /> <br />~~ Reservoir and the reservoir outlet on Soldier Canyon <br /> <br />in the Colorado-Big Thompson project. He mentioned cooperation <br /> <br />with the State of Colorado and the republican river compact admini- <br /> <br />stration concerning Colorado's proposal to acquire conservation <br /> <br />storage in Bonnie Reservoir. The windy gap environmental statement <br /> <br />is nearing completion concerning the transmountain diversion <br /> <br />project. One feasibility investigation is underway in front range, <br /> <br />that being Coal Creek in the communities of Louisville and Lafayette. <br /> <br />Study is to be completed this year with a report available in fiscal <br /> <br />year 81. nmong the special projects is a transfer of funds for <br /> <br />cooperation with the Department of Natural Resources for completion <br /> <br />of the Colorado Water Policy and options study. He mentioned that <br /> <br />Colorado is viewed as an inovative state in its water planning <br /> <br />activity and the service is pleased to assist in such activity. <br />
