<br />11 <br /> <br />Now, therefore be it resolved that the Colorado Water Con- <br /> <br />servation Board supports and does hereby urge the Congress of the <br /> <br /> <br />United States to promptly pass the bill XRK introduced by Senator <br /> <br /> <br />Hart which would rename the Curecanti unit the Wayne N. Aspinall <br /> <br /> <br />unit. Mr. Kroeger than moved the adoption of the resolution. <br /> <br /> <br />Chairman Stapleton declared that the other members of the Board <br /> <br />secondemx the resolution and endorsed it favorably. The vote <br /> <br />was unanimous in favor. <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald then discussed two projects which had been men- <br /> <br />tioned at the January meeting for potential deauthorization. The <br /> <br />two projects at Keenesberg and Brighton, have been investigated <br /> <br />and have been built and are operating under other funding sources. <br /> <br />He requested a motion XEX from the Board to inform the legislature <br /> <br />that the Board reqommends that the two projects be authorized. <br /> <br />Mr. Vandemoer so moved. <br /> <br />Mr. Fetcher inquired about the status of the Meadow Creek <br /> <br />project. Mr. McDonald responded that discussions are underway.and <br /> <br /> <br />a satisfactory solution is anticipated. Mr. Stapleton called for <br /> <br /> <br />a vote. The vote was unanimous in favor. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald then announced that Laren Morrill, Deputy <br /> <br />Director of the Water Conservation Board, has announced his re- <br /> <br />tirement at the end of the month. He expressed gratitude for Mr. <br /> <br />Morrill's service particularly in the transition of new leadership <br /> <br />in the Board. Mr. Stapleton suggested that an appropriate resolu- <br /> <br />tion be drafted in recognition of Mr. Morrill's service and instructed <br /> <br />that if he prepared for the next Board meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Stapleton called on the Water and Power Resources service <br />
