<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ute Water Conservancv District - Plateau Creek Pioeline <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 88-30 County: Mesa- E of Palisade <br />Water Source: Grand Mesa Drainage Project Yield: 7,200 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $7,600,000 @5% for 30 years Project Type: Pipeline Construction <br />This project is the replacement of an existing 15-mile pipeline providing water to the Ute <br />Water Conservancy District. The District provides water to 55,000 people, or more than half of the <br />Grand Valley population. Camp, Dresser, & McKee, Inc. of Denver has completed final design <br />and construction contract documents for the final phase of the project. Phase I of the project, <br />placement of the lower 8,000 linear foot of the pipeline, commenced in February by ERS <br />Constructors, Inc. of Sedalia, CO. and was completed in May 1999. A joint venture between <br />Bamard Construction, Inc. of Bozeman, Montana and Affholder Construction, Inc. of Chesterfield, <br />Missouri was awarded the construction contract for the final project phase and is scheduled to <br />commence construction in early December 1999 with completion scheduled for February 2002. <br /> <br />Denver Museum of Natural Historv - Denver Basin Aquifer Geo-Hvdrologic Core Studv <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 98-1189 County: Elbert - S of Kiowa <br />Water Source: Denver Basin Aquifers Project Yield: N/ A <br />Terms of Loan: $90,000 Grant Project Type: Geo-Hydrologic Study <br />This project is the acquisition of a 2,200-foot core of the Denver Basin aquifers near Kiowa <br />in the central Denver Basin. The purpose of the core is to help develop an integrated hydrologic <br />and geologic framework for the Denver Basin aquifers. This will enable State, County, and <br />municipal plarmers to promote appropriate development of the Basin's water resources. This core- <br />drilling project is part of a three-year National Science Foundation research study that will focus on <br />the evolution of the Denver Basin and its landscapes. Drilling commenced March I, 1999 by <br />Layne Westem, Inc. and was completed in April. Core analysis will continue for three years. <br /> <br />Projects Being Designed <br /> <br />Sterling Irrigation Comoanv - Diversion Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 99-173 County: Logan - SW of Sterling <br />Water Source: South Platte River Project Yield: 23,563 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $318,583 @3.75% for 30 yrs. Project Type: Diversion Structure Rehab. <br />This $354,000 project is the rehabilitation of the Sterling Ditch #1 diversion and headgate <br />structure on the South Platte River southwest ofthe City of Sterling. The project consists of a <br />new floor and gate system for approximately 100 lineal feet along the existing structure. The <br />gate will be an Obelllleyer Pneumatic Spillway gate, 4.5 feet high. The Company has contracted <br />with Jack Odor, P.E. of GASP to prepare the design and construction contract documents. <br />Construction is scheduled to commence in late 1999 with completion scheduled for May 2000. <br /> <br />Consolidated Mutual Water Comoanv - Fortune Reservoir Dam Construction <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 99-173 County: Jefferson - NW of Arvada <br />Water Source: Clear Creek Project Yield: 8,869 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $10,000,000@4.75% for 10 years Project Type: New Dam Construction <br />This $20,000,000 project is the construction of a new 9,000 acre-foot reservoir northwest of <br />Arvada.
