System <br />This $345,000 project is the construction of a new rural raw water irrigation and distribution <br />system in La Plata County west ofIgnacio. The project consists of construction of a concrete <br />diversion structure and pump station at the Florida River, a transmission pipeline from the diversion <br />to a storage impoundment, and construction of approximately 9,000 feet of distribution pipeline <br />from the storage impoundment to the water users. RMI Environmental Services of Farmington, <br />New Mexico prepared the project design. Project construction commenced September 2, 1997 by <br />RMI Environmental Services of Farmington, New Mexico (a designlbuild contractor). The project <br />is currently 70% complete and continues to be on indefinite hold due to and financial problems. <br /> <br />DNR - Division of Wildlife - Native Aquatic Soecies Restoration Facilitv <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 98-1189 County: Alamosa- W of Alamosa <br />Water Source: San Luis Valley Aquifers Project Yield: N/A <br />Terms of Loan: $2,000,000 Grant Project Type: Aquatic Species Hatchery <br />This project is the construction of a Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facility just west of <br />Alamosa. The project is being managed and 60% funded by the Division of Wildlife. FishPro, Inc. <br />of Port Orchard, Washington completed project design and construction contract documents. The <br />construction contract was awarded to Southwest Contracting, Inc. of Cortez July 16, 1999. <br />Construction commenced in August 1999 with completion scheduled for June 2000. <br /> <br />Palisade. Town of - Cottonwood Creek Pipeline Rehabilitation .. <br /> <br />Authorization: HB 95-1155 County: Mesa- SE of Palisade .. <br />Water Source: Cottonwood Creek Project Yield: 2,210 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $750,000 @4.0% for 30 years Project Type: Pipeline Replacement <br />This project is the 22,000 linear foot replacement of the Town of Palisades Cottonwood <br />Creek pipeline. The proposed pipeline will be a 12-inch diameter ductile iron pipe from the outlet <br />pipe on Cabin Reservoir to an existing pipe 5,300 feet upstream of the Town's water treatment <br />plant. The pipe will be installed along the access road that runs through the narrow rocky canyon of <br />Cottonwood Creek. Del-Mont Consultants, Inc. of Montrose, CO. completed the design plans and <br />construction specifications. Construction is scheduled to commence in November 1999 by Western <br />Slope Utilities, Inc. of Breckenridge, Colorado and is scheduled for completion in the summer of <br />2000. <br /> <br />Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Comoanv - Sununit Reservoir and Ditch Svstem Rehab. <br /> <br />Authorization: SB 97-008 County: Montezuma - NE of Cortez <br />Water Source: Lost Canyon Creek Project Yield: 4,287 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $200,000 @ 3.75% for 30 years Project Type: Reservoir and Ditch Rehab. <br />This project is the rehabilitation of the Summit Reservoir Dam outlet works and the <br />construction of repairs and improvements to the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company's water <br />collection and distribution facilities. The Cortez office of the Natural Resource Conservation <br />Service prepared the construction plans and specifications. Construction for the second to the last <br />phase of improvements commenced in March by Noland, Inc. of Mancos, CO. and was completed <br />in July. The final phase of improvements is scheduled for completion in the fall of2000. e <br />
