The representa.. <br />tives of the seven states are oonfident the treaty will oontain <br />provisions .eoi:' 1:;he most oarefu1 oonservation or the water supply <br />and for the fair ocmpensation to .....ter users within the United <br />States ror the fe.oilities used in the delivery of water to Mexico." <br /> <br />Dr. Nelson. a member of this Board and Director of the Colorado St..te <br />Planning COllllllission, presented a request ror assistance in the ocmpletion and <br />printing of certain maps respeoting land use in the State of Colorado. It <br />was explained by him that a great deal of work had meen done on these maps <br />and that funds were not available in his- department for their oompletion; that <br />a former member of his staff engaged in this wot:k had ;,een later employed by <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board; that the maps would be of value to the <br />Board in IJlll.tters of development or water resources; al!ld that every efrort <br />should be made to preserve the work that had been aooomplished on these mapS <br />so that they oould be made available to interested s1:;ate and federal agencies. <br />He presented copies of maps showing the present smtus of the work and explain- <br />ed that he had disoussed the matter with Governor.John C. Vivian. The assist- <br />ance would oonsist of payment of salaries of personnel engaged in the work <br />for the reproduotion of the maps; and 1:;h..t the expe:adi ture for this purpose <br />would involve not to"exceed $900.00, probably a less 8JIIOtllll.t. Of' this amount <br />'530.00 would be ror man-hlilurs and inoludes a drafisJllll.n and assistant, and <br />about $380,00 is estimated for the reproduotion for Gne hundred to three <br />hundred maps. (it was understood that this amount should, if possible, be re- <br />duced through reproduc1:;ion of different types of ..ps). <br /> <br />It _s moved by Mr. Dille and seooaded lty Mr. Smith that <br />the Board approveel expenditure of the &mom ef money, not to ex- <br />oeed $900.00, necessary to oomplete the elra.fiing and reproduotion <br />of land use maps, work on whioh had: heretofere been pe.rtially <br />cOlllpleted by the Color..do State Planning Cemmission, subject to <br />the oondition tha1:; any money expended for sl10h purpose shall be <br />out of the appropriation for theColor..do Water Conservation <br />Board for the biennial period 1941-1943. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried. <br /> <br />Direotor Stone ~led attention to consideration or a voucher presented <br />by the United States Geological Survey, in the amount of $2.771.47. He ex- <br />plained that there would be additional vouohers to oQaplete the oooperative <br />agreement now existing be~en the Board.and the Uni1:;ed States Geological <br />Survey for stream gaging in aid of projeotinvestigation, in the total. ad- <br />ditional amoont of $3.728.5.3. He asked for the approval of the Board for the <br />payment of these amounts. <br /> <br />
