grade and structures for the Denver and Rio .
Grande Western Railroad relocation in the
Pueblo Reservoir area was completed in January
of '69.

The Denver and Rio Grande Western Rail-
road is continuing installation of communica-
tion and signal equipment and is installing
ties preparatory to actual track laying
operations on the relocated line.

The contract for the State Highway No.
96 relocation at Pueblo Reservoir was executed
in March 1969 and the State Highway Depart-
ment expects to award the actual construction
contract later this spring.

Various transmission line and telephone
line relocations in Ruedi Reservoir, Turquoise
Reservoir, and Pueblo Reservoir are under way
or nearing completion.

Most of you know this, but recent re-'
visions in the fiscal year 1970 Bureau of
Reclamation BUdget now before Congressional
appropriation committees have reduced the
Fryingpan-Arkansas program by $7 million.
This reduction will cause a year's delay in
initial construction of Pueblo Dam itself
and the North Side Collection System on the
other side of the hill.

On the Upper Colorado River Storage I
Project, construction of the Midway Substa-
tion, south of Colorado Springs, is essential-
ly complete. Final inspections are under way
and testing of equipment will be accomplished
by May 1969. The substation will be placed in
service upon completion of equipment testing.
