Reclamation. The Regional Project Develop-
ment Engineer, Morey Droskin, - by the way,
he is home bailing out his basement, I
understand - presented testimony on behalf
of the Bureau of Reclamation.

A new bill, H. R. 6715, for authoriza-
tion of the Narrows unit has been introduced
in the House of Representatives by Congress-
men Aspinall, Rogers, and Evans. The Bureau
has been asked for a legislative report on
the bill so necessary revisions are being
made to bring cost and benefit data to
current price levels and reflect a change
in interest rate. Revised costs or bene-
fits have been received from the Corps of
Engineers, the National Park Service, .and
the Fish and Wildlife Service. The proposed
fish hatchery, to be located downstream from
the dam, is now included in the plan of
development. We are preparing a reevaluation
statement for the unit in anticipation of
Congressional hearings in Washington.

The Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. Con-
struction of Ruedi Dam is essentially com-
plete with only minor cleanup items remaining.
Storage in Ruedi Reservoir amounted to 52,759
acre-feet on April 24, 1969. The land and
water areas will be open to recreationists
and fishermen this spring.

The contract for construction of South
Fork and Chapman Tunnels, Diversion Dams,
and appurtenant structures of the South
Side Collection System is essentially com-
plete. The contractor for the Divide Tunnel
is continuing normal tunneling operations
and the heading as of April 21, 1969, was
1,696 feet from the west portal. At the con-
tractor's present rate of progress, he should
'hole-through' by July 1, 1969.
