I don't <br />have to be so polite. When we first started <br />Chatfield with the original appropriation we <br />expected to close the gates in 1970. that's <br />next year. Then as a result of the cut last <br />year the closure was moved up to 1972. Now <br />we have it in 1975. I can be even more frank <br />than that. If the present appropriations <br />continue at the rate of $7 million a year <br />it will take nine more years to complete <br />Chatfield." <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />MR. It is not only <br />this year. it was really the past two years <br />before this that slowed down the construction <br />materially.
