<br />the 40th year of operation or by the year <br />2003. <br /> <br />We have sold and are contracting for <br />quite a little municipal and industrial <br />water out of these reservoirs. currently <br />the United States has executed two minor <br />short-term contracts for water service from <br />Navajo Reservoir for municipal and industrial <br />purposes. The water service amounts to about <br />1100 acre-feet annually. These contracts are <br />short-term and will terminate in 1972. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Three long-term water service contracts <br />with the utah Construction and Mining Company, <br />Public Service Company of New Mexico, and <br />Southern Union Gas Company for Navajo Reser- <br />voir water have been ,approved by Congress <br />and executed. The water service contracted <br />amounts to 64,250 acre-feet of water annually. <br />These contracts have a termination date of <br />2005. The contractors have until year 1977 <br />to put the contracted water to beneficial <br />use. <br /> <br />We are presently engaged in contract <br />negotiations with the El Paso Natural Gas <br />Company for a water service contract from <br />Navajo Reservoir for about 27,500 acre-feet <br />of water. <br /> <br />At Lake Powell, one water service con- <br />tract with the Salt River Project Agricultural <br />Improvement and Power District has been <br />executed. It has a term of 40 years and pro- <br />vides for annual diversions amounting to <br />40,000 acre-feet and a depletion not exceed- <br />ing 34,100 acre-feet. <br /> <br />Also, we are working with the Resources <br />Company for water service from Lake Powell. <br />This contract provides an ultimate service <br />of 102,000 acre-feet annually. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The State of Wyoming contracted for <br />
