Navajo R.:"servoir is now at about. eleva- tion 6018 feet with a content of 891,000 acre-feet of live storage. The reservoir is expected to rise to about elevation 6040 feet with a content just over one million acre- feet and then drop down to 6030 feet by the end of August and will be maintained near this level, which is the agreed upon recreational level, for the rest of the summer for recrea- tional purposes. I Blue Mesa Reservoir currently has about 359,000 acre-feet in live storage with a water surface at 7458 feet. Blue Mesa is expected to reach an elevation of about 7512 feet with a content of 763,000 acre-feet. Then it will recede gradually until next April when it will reach a low of about 7456 feet. Morrow Point Reservoir, which is located downstream from Blue Mesa, is almost full now. We have been spilling it a little bit off and on during the last three or four weeks through the spillway gates. It is currently at elevation 7150 feet with a content of about 109,000 acre-feet. The reservoir should drop during the summer months to about elevation 7000 feet. Lake Mead is now about elevation 1141 feet or about 7 feet higher than a year ago. It contains 15.5 million acre-feet of. avail- able storage or about 57 percent of its total capacity. The lake may be slightly higher by the end of March 1970. Required compact releases from Lake Powell will probably exceed Lower Basin water requirements during the next three years so Lake Mead should rise a nominal amount over the next three year period.
