Project reservoirs. The water supply prospect
for the coming spring runoff is expected to
be near normal over the entire Upper Basin
area.

I

L~ke Powell's water surface should reach
an all-time high in July, at elevation of
about 3580 with a live storage of about
10,300,000 acre-feet. The lake should not
recede appreciably from this level during the
next 8 to 10 months. At elevation 3580 feet
the lake will be 10 feet above the rated power
head and about 30 feet above last year's
maximum level.

We are estimating a release for the 1969
water year of about 8.8 million acre-feet.
.For the next three years thereafter, annual
releases should be kept near that amount in
order to deliver to the Lower Basin the 7S
million acre-feet compact requirement for the
consecutive ten-year period 1963-72. The
entire release will be used to generate power
for power customers in both the Upper and
Lower Basin states.

Flaming Gorge Reservoir is now at eleva-
tion 5976 feet and a content of 1,694,000
acre-feet. It should reach elevation 5989
feet by the end of July with a live storage
of 1,781,000 acre-feet.

I

At present, Fontenelle Reservoir is at
elevation 6490 with a content of 227,000
acre-feet of live storage. With the current
spring runoff, the reservoir should rise to
its maximum elevation of 6506 feet by the end
of June. The reservoir will normally rise
to its maximum elevation of 6506 feet each
spring and be drawn down to elevation 6480
feet late each winter to optimize power pro-
duction. Within this type of fluctuation all
purposes of the project will be served and
minimum amounts of water will bypass the
powerplant.
