a low bid of $2,869,414 for the completion of
Morrow Point Powerplant and constructing
Morrow Point Switchyard and Visitor Facili-
ties. The construction award was made January
13, 1969, and the contractor commenced its
work at Morrow Point Powerplant on February I
12th. Our construction schedule calls for
completion of all work to permit generation .
of Morrow Point Powerplant, No. 1 Unit, in
June 1970 and the No.. 2 Unit in September
1970.

Nearly three-fourths of the work on the
paonia project has been accomplished now under
a $272,261 contract awarded November 26, 1968,
for rehabilitating three reaches of Colorado
Highway No. 133 at paonia Dam and Reservoir.
It appears likely that this work will be
completed so the Department of Colorado High-
ways can put the blacktop surfacing on it
this summer.

.' .

At the Bostwick Park Project, the con-
tractor for Silver Jack Dam returned to the
worksite this spring only to find that the
slide area above the spillway transition and
stilling basin had been reactivated. It
slid down and did quite a bit of damage to
the stilling basin, part of the spillway, and
possibly the outlet works. We don't know yet
the extent of the damage that has been done
to the spillway and what will have to be
rebuilt on ~hat. In this regard though, the
completion of Silver Jack Dam will probably
be delayed because of this slide activity:
However, the abutment of the dam still
appears to be stable. This slide occurred
downstream from the dam so it doesn't endanger
the dam structure itself.

Work has progressed on the Bonneville
Unit of the Central Utah Project, which is
out of your state area.

I

Now for a report on the Colorado Storage
