Reservoir at elevation 5500. This
elevation was chosen to be above the
high water line of a proposed permanent
pool for fishing purposes for the Game
and Fish Department which permanent
pool will have a maximum elevation of
5544. The right-of-way requested is
for a forty inch, steel, enamel coated,
domestic water supply line. The line
has been engineered to have a minimum
cover of six feet across the reservoir
area and is designed in such a way that
it is immaterial whether or not the area
across which the line traverses is inun-
dated. The Corps of Engineers is object-
ing to permitting such a right-of-way and
is basing their objection, in part, on
a statement previously furnished by the
Colorado Water Conservation Board.'"

Discussion was held on the harm of such a pipeline,
and how it might affect future storage, possibility of pipe-
line breaks, etc.

MR. PETERSON:

"I move that we have the Director
send such a letter as requested."

MR. WUNSCH:

"Second the motion."

Upon vote, the motion was unanimously carried.

MR. CRAWFORD:

"Item #3 - The Colorado River Water
Conservancy District has some suggestions
in regard to the Curecanti Project. Mr.
John Barnard, Sr. will tell you about
this."

Mr. Barnard, Sr. spoke on the proposal of the Colo-
.rado River Water Conservancy District regarding the Upper
Gunnison Basin project which has as its heart the proposed
Curecanti. He said, however, that he believedit might be
premature at this meeting to present this matter; that while
they wanted to acquaint the Board with their ideas, he would
suggest the matter be omitted at this meeting and be presented
at a later meeting where it could be the principal item.

At this time Mr. Miller entered the meeting and
took his seat.
