demands during the summer and also their anti-
cipated long-range demands. The first one was
at the National PaD_ Service headquarters in
Rocky Hountain National Park. In this particu-
lar area we have done some test drilling and
were unable to find an adequate supply on the I
first try. l-1e found another area that looks
favorable and that will be tested this coming
month. The same sort of problems have
occurred at the Pueblo Ordnance Depot just
outside of Pueblo and at the Air Force Academy.
Both of these will be short-term jobs and be
finiohed up I'lithin, oh, by the 1st of ne~:t
July.

One thing that I would like to emphaoize
io the development of a new technique by one
of our senior engineers in the organization. I
thiru_ it will be a basis for helping out the
Hater Conservation Board in developing \-Iater
management plans for the conjunctive use of
ground waters and surface waters. I thiru_ it
will also be of benefit to the state engineer's
office in administering the law as it is nO\1
and as it may develop in the future. Clifford
Jerudns is the author of this paper. ~le just
yeoterday received permission to publish thio
in the journal entitled 'Ground Hater' and have
requested that the report be released to the
open-file and as a consequence will be avail-
able to a selected group of scientists whom
\'Ie \1ill ask to review the technique.

This is, as I mentioned before, the basis
for a system of evaluating streamflow deple-
tions. The next step will be to prepare a map
that shows lines where the effects of streamflow
depletion will be equal. In using this map,
then, along with a computer program, it will
be possible to determine \1hat the effects from
any pumping schedule might be on the otream at
any given time.
