'!'his report I'las re- leased last month. 1 A third report, entitled 'Geology and Ground-water Resources of the Big Sandy Creek Valley, Lincoln, Cheyenne, and Kiowa Counties, Colorado', was released and would be of inter- est to those in the ArJ;:ansas valley. I think that constitutes the bull;: of the publications that we have released since the last meeting. Most of our field work during the past tl-10 or three months has consisted of selecting more data so that we can get better refined answers to define the hydrology in the principal valleys of the Arl;:ansas River, the south Platte, and the Rio Grande. One thing of note was the full-scale pumping tests that we conducted in the South Platte Valley. In addition to being a good piece of information for that particular area, it was attended by foreign and domestic students I'lho are taJdng training courses out at the Federal Center in Denver. 1 '!'he last two months have been particularly active in developing new programs. '!'he Hater Resources Division has developed an organization study with the Inter-County Regional Planning Commission. '!'he Planning Commission is a six- county commission that incorporates the metro- politan areas in and around Denver. It goes as far north, I believe, as Longmont and as far south as Castle Rock. '!'he purpose of this particular study is to provide information that will be useful in designing better storm drain- age for the urbanized areas. We have had three federal projects.
