<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A TT ACHMENT 2 <br /> <br />FPR 99-504 <br />Flood Insurance Study, Town of Severance, Colorado, dated September, 1999. <br /> <br />KEY ISSUES: <br />. The Flood Insurance Study prepared by FEMA contains detailed engineering information along with <br />lOO-year floodplain delineations for the "Slough" within the town of Severance, <br /> <br />. The Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, performed the technical analyses for this study under contract <br />with FEMA, CWCB staff performed site investigations and surveyed channel cross-section <br />information in support of this study, <br /> <br />. This report is the most current regulatory floodplain information available to the community, and <br />supersedes or is compatible with all previous studies, <br /> <br />. There are no apparent problems or controversial issues regarding the floodplain information for this <br />community, <br /> <br />COMMUNITY RESPONSE: <br />A notification letter was sent by CWCB staff to the local floodplain admiriistrator to inform <br />the Town of the proposed designation action. The floodplain administrator was also <br />contacted via telephone to discuss the Flood Insurance Study and the designation process. <br />The floodplain administrator verbally supported the Board's action, and there were no <br />apparent concerns or issues regarding this, study. The designation and approval for this study <br />is being taken under Rule 9.D.1. The community will send a written request letter in the near <br />future for inclusion in the project file. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br />The staff recommends Board approval of the floodplain resolution for the Town of Severance <br />designating the September 1999 Flood Insurance Study and the accompanying Flood Insurance <br />Rate Map. The detailed floodplain information contained in the report and on the maps meets the <br />Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules", The designation action will assure that <br />this floodplain information for Severance is explicitly approved by the state, thereby complying <br />with state statutory requirements. <br /> <br />4 <br />
