No. 129 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 31, 1979 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI <br /> <br />o N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Soil <br />Denver, Colorado, completed in May, 1970, <br />report entitled "Flood Plain Information, <br />shed, Larimer County, Colorado"; and <br /> <br />Conservation Service, <br />a floodplain information <br />Boxelder Creek Water- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as <br />requested by the Board of County Co~~issioners of Larimer County, <br />by resolution adopted June 3, 1970, approved and designated the <br />floodplains described in the May, 1970. report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />Town of Wellington, Colorado," which includes floodplain information <br />and data for Boxelder Creek and Coal Creek, dated August, 1978, <br />has been prepared by Gingery Associates, Inc. under contract with <br />the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Wellington has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and apprOval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legiSlative <br />bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said revised <br />information and data and does hereby recommend to the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board that the Board designate and approve as <br /> <br />APPENDIX F <br />
