There is <br />no point of my reporting on anything but those <br />two and I will do so very briefly. <br /> <br />We'll go first to the power marketing and <br />transmission criteria. Mr. Jennings has already <br />reported that the Bureau has completed its <br />studies and made its recommendation to the Sec- <br />retary of the Interior concerning the construc- <br />tion of transmission lines. At this date no <br />information is available as to what is contained <br />in those recommendations or as to any possible <br />action by the Secretary of the Interior. Un- <br />doubtedly whatever is done will not be popular <br />in all circles since a considerable controversy I <br />always exists in connection with the construc- <br />tion of federal transmission lines. Rumor has <br />it (and that's all it is, strictly rumor, I <br />read it in the papers the same as you did per- <br />haps) that the recommendation is for an all- <br />federal transmission system. Whether that's <br />true or not, I have absolutely no knowledge. <br />But that decision must be made in the very, very <br />
