I

FLORIDA PROJECT (COLORADO): The Florida Project is another new
start this fiscal year. The recent
significant action was the November 22 election in which the con-
servancy district water users voted 315 to 1 in favor of the repay-
ment contract. Our Denver office has scheduled the issuance of the
invitations for bids on Lemon Dam for April. First storage in
Lemon Reservoir is scheduled for April 1964.

SEEDSKADEE PROJECT (WYOMING): The way is clearing up to go ahead
with the Seedskadee Project (Wyoming).
The extent of trona deposits within the project area has been de-
fined by the exploratory drilling recently completed by the Union
Pacific Railroad Company and the concerns interested in mining
trona. Commercially valuable trona deposits underlie only the
southern one-third of the Seedskadee Project, and we now will pro-
ceed with a plan for stage development of the project. Fontene11e
Dam on the Green River will be built large enough to provide stor-
age for the ultimate project. The construction contract for Fonte-
ne11e Dam is scheduled for issuance next April. The irrigation
system to serve the northern two-thirds of the ultimate project
area will be built initially and expanded later to serve the south-
ern part of the project when the extent of surface subsidence
following trona mining and the effect that subsidence will have on
surface irrigation can be observed.

OTHER PROJECTS

COLLBRAN PROJECT (COLORADO): Construction of project features pro-
ceeds with the Southside Tunnel and
Canal and the Leon Creek Diversion Dam and the Leon-Park Feeder
Canal completed or essentially completed. Work is going ahead on
the Upper and Lower Molina powerplants and the Bonham-Cottonwood
Pipeline.

I

By the close of 1960, first-stage concrete had been
placed in both of the Molina powerplants, the roofs had been com-
pleted, and work on the penstocks was well advanced. The genera-
tors and turbines should be delivered to the job soon and installa-
tion will begin early in 1961 under a completion contract for which
invitations for bids were issued on December 30.

The Bonham-Cottonwood Pipeline was about 50 percent com-
pleted when bad weather halted operations on October 9.
