but to the growth of the Upper Platte Valley.
The Legislators who are here should remember
that Denver's development of water here is
not for the area inside Denver so mu'ch as it
is for the area immediately outside. The
Bureau of Reclamation, in 1951, abandoned the
project which was for them, and it had to be
picked up by the City of Denver. If we could
have a Bureau of Reclamation project to do
this job, that would be very fine."

MR. STAPLETON:

"All I can say for the audience is that
you can see being a member of the colorado
Water Conservation Board is an exciting job.
With that comment we will recess until 1:30
P. M. Members of the Board will meet at the
Argonaut Hotel at 12:15 for luncheon."

The meeting reconvened at 1:30 P. M. and the call to
order was made by Vice-Chairman Stapleton.

MR. STAPLETON:

"Gentlemen, we will call the meeting to
order. I am going to interrupt the regular
course of events and ask Dr. Clark to ma~e
his report. He has an engagement a little
later on which he cannot change. I know the
Board would like to hear from him at this
time. Dr. Clark."

DR. CLARK:

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, I
have filed, in my budget, a request for $25,000
for implementation of the study on the water
recodification. The Joint Budget Committee
will be meeting on February 4, at eight o'clock
in the morning, that's on a Saturday, to con-
sider my budget. Immediately thereafter
they'll consider the budget of the State Engi-
neer, about nine o'clock. At ten-thirty that
morning we'll have the budget review of this
particular Board. I thought you would be in-
terested in knowing the date when these hear-
ings are going to be held.

your last meeting except to begin to shape up
a committee among the various state agencies
