I

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. SPARKS:

I

and Fish Department has designated a repre-
sentative; the Department of Agriculture has
designated one; the State Department of Health
has designated a representative. Of course,
the State Engineer's office is represented, as
your Board is represented. That committee is
shaping up very nicely and we will have it
formed and hold a preliminary meeting prior to
February 4.

That's substantially all I have to report
at this time."

"Thank you, Dr. Clark. Well, I think we'll
get back now to the matter that we had before
us on the agenda before lunch, the Narrows
Project. We were asking if there were any
further comments from any members of the Board
or any members of the audience before we pro-
ceeded to consider the motion that Mr. Miller
made earlier in the morning. Are there any
further comments that anyone would care to
make at this time?

The Board has been meeting during lunch,
attempting to formulate this resolution and,
Larry, can you restate the summary of our con-
versation?"

"Mr. Chairman, for the benefit of those who
are interested, the remarks made concerning the
South Platte Project prior to luncheon obviously
need some explanation, or answers I should say,
in view of the imaginery fears that were raised
and the points that were set forth.

I wish to emphasize that those remarks
made prior to luncheon did not either extend
nor detract from the study which has always
been contemplated by this Board and by the Bur-
eau of Reclamation in connection with the South
Platte Project. It has always been clear to us,
and to the Bureau of Reclamation, that this is
a South Platte Project and it does not extend
to, nor contemplate, any structures, diversions,
nor the initiation of decrees by the United
States Government for the importation of water
