consider getting a representative of the Colo-
rado River Water Conservation District on your
steering committee. Otherwise you'll run into
trouble.

Now I don't want any misunderstanding in
the minds of this Board, or anybody else, but I
this is a plan for the development of the South
Platte basin and it needs development. We
need to save this water that is going to waste.
Why let it go to Nebraska? They can't use it.
If it's that sort of plan, we're wholeheartedly
for it. I think I can speak for my board. If
it's a plan designed, not designed, don't get
me wrong, I don't think the planners ever de-
signed it, but if it is to be utilized by the
City of Denver as another means they can use
to violate their agreements with us and do
something they have no moral or legal right to
do, then we are 'agin' it and will stay that
way.u

"Thank you, Mr. Barnard. The step initial-
ly, of our program, is going to depend in the
judgment and wisdom we have in selecting a
steering committee. I think both Mr. Barnard
and Mr. Saunders will agree that this Board has
been genuinely fair, and tried to be, with the
interests of all sections of this state. That
is why I suggested that we not make the steer-
ing committee appointments and suggestions
until the next meeting of the Board. As far as
I am concerned that should end this part of
that discussion."
