We will attempt to coordinate our
activities ~ith the Upper Basin States
as well as ~ith the Upper Colorado River
Commission. The magnitude is so great
and the time so short, that we must
utilize all the available talent in the
four Upper Basin States. We ~ill com-
mence our study of this problem next
week."

MR. MILLER:

recommendation on the appointment of
Mr. McClellan."

The motion passed unanimously.

MR. MOSES:

"1 see there are some other matters
in the folders, Mr. Sparks."

Mr. Sparks stated one item was the matter of the San
Juan-Chama and Navajo Irrigation Projects Bill now in Congress;.
that the legal and.engineering committees investigating this
Bill ~ith the view of writing Colorado's proposed amendments
to same had been working very diligently and that an appropria-
tion of $4000.00 would be needed to pay for the studies. He
asked permission of the Board to approve the expenditure of
this amount from the special $50,000 appropriation passed by
the last legislature. Mr. Barnard, Jr. said that several of
the members of the Colorado committee had discussed the amend-
ments with New Mexico officials and that he personally had the
feeling that most, if not all, will be acceptable to the State
of New Mexico.

MR. PETERSON:

"I move the expenditure of $4,000 to
defray the expenses of this study, to be
appropriated from the $50,000 approved by
the last Legislature for such special
studies, subject to the approval of the
Governor."
