I think you missed last time for the <br />first time." <br /> <br />"I couldn't make it last time. <br /> <br />Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, ladies <br />and gentlemen, the Omaha District, in their civil <br />\1orks Program, is conducting three investigations <br />in the South Platte River Basin - the review <br />study of the 1945 investigation; a program of <br />flood plain information studies for the Denver <br />i'letropolitan Region; and a Small Flood Control <br />Project at Skunk Creek at the Bureau of Standards <br />property at Boulder, Colorado. <br /> <br />In our review investigation we are continu- <br />ing with an evaluation of the economic magnitude <br />of the flood damage potential in the upper basin. <br />At the present time we are making studies of <br />flood damage potentials on Bear Creek and Clear <br />Creek. Studies to date on the other streams in <br />the upper basin have thus far failed to demon- <br />strate flood damage potential of sufficient <br />magnitude to indicate economic justification of <br />flood control measures. In part this is due to <br />more rigid methodology adopted since the pre- <br />vious report in 1945. However, long term growth <br />projections and the potential for.joint flood <br />control and water resources development must be <br />investigated more fully to determine the potential <br />
