MR. STAPLETON:

MR. SLIZESKI:

of economically feasible multiple-purpose im-
provements.

On our Flood Plain Information Studies, the
Chief of Engineers has completed his review of
the first volume ",hich covers the South Platte I
River from Waterton to Brighton, Colorado. Be- ~
cause of the bulk of the report, he has directed
our office to limit the full report to an issue
of approximately 400 copies and to prepare a
summary public information report of sufficient
number of copies for widespread distribution to
all interested in the Denver region. j')e are
currently in the process of preparing the summary
report and hope to publish the publication of
Volume I report sometime in July. On the second
volume which covers Sand and Tollgate Creek and
lower Cherry Creek we are currently in the process
of preparing the report itself and hope to com-
plete this report by September. We have initiated
hydraulic studies on Bear Creek and Clear Creek
and hydrology studies on other primary tributaries,
Plum Creek, Little Dry Creek, are under way.

On the Small Flood control Project on Skunk
Creek at Boulder, Colorado, in May the Bureau of
Standards opened discussions to examine the
potential for including a small amount of irriga-
tion storage to supply irrigation water for their
lawns and this has delayed completion of our de-
sign studies which initially were based solely
on flood detention. Currently the Bureau of
Standards ha~ engaged a consulting engineer to
explore the aspects of irrigating their land or
their grounds with storage in this project and
until this has been completed we can't proceed
with that design study for the project.

That's about all the Omaha District has to
report at this time."

I

"I wonder if I may ask a question in regard
to, as you know, a very severe storm we had in
Denver about ten days ago."

UYes.lI
