I don't believe there is anyone from Region
5 here today. I don't see Mr. Sweet. Do we have
a report from Region 5?"

"Yes. We have a letter report. I'll read
the pertinent paragraph. From Leon W. Hill,
Regional Director of Region 5:

'We have little to report in addition to that
we have previously given you in connection with
the Closed Basin. Receipt of Mr. Kuiper's letter
of June 3, 1963, gave us about all the data
necessary to complete the report. We are in the
process of revising the draft submitted for field
comments and will submit the revised draft to the
commissioner as soon as it is completed. I would
anticipate that this would be not later than
July 15, 1963.'

That constitutes Region 5's report."

"Next we'll have Mr. Odell. Will you report
for the U.S .G.S., please?"

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, and
guests, our report is rather brief compared to
some of these others. We have recently released
our Surface Water Report for the 1962 Water Year
and this is the earliest that these data have
been made available in published form in the
history of Colorado. We are quite proud of our
accomplishment and also want to commend Jean
Whitten's office for the cooperation they have
given us in getting their portion of the report
ready.

All the branches of the Survey are pursuing
their summer field activities. Reconnaissance
is under way for installation of several new
gaging stations, mostly in the higher areas.
