water impounded in the resez:voir. The lake is
213 feet deep at the dam. Now I think I reported
at the last Board meeting that they were planning
one of the largest fish planting operations in
Lake Powell in the history that we know of. There
has, at the present time, been three million fish
planted in the reservoir and they plan before
the year is over to raise that total to eight
million.

I

Moving on to Flaming Gorge, as you all know
the first power is scheduled for delivery from
this structure in September. The prime contrac-
tor is now more than 97% complete on the dam.
As I mentioned previously there is yet some
concrete placement to be done on the dam, prin-
cipally on the elevator shaft, trashrack struc-
ture, and those places.

Now as far as the Flaming Gorge Reservoir is
concerned, water is backed up over 50 miles back
of the dam. It now extends well into the state
of \'7yoming. The depth of the water is 285 feet
above the dam and on June 14th the reservoir had
reached the content of 400,000 acre-feet of
water.

Navajo Dam is completed. The lake formed
by the dam is 213 feet deep immediately upstream
from the dam and on June 14th this reservoir
contained 356,000 acre-feet of water.

f(,

Moving on to the Curecanti Unit, the prime
contractor has completed about 37% of the work
on Blue Mesa Dam and powerplant. The current
work includes excavation in the outlet works
tunnel and placement of concrete and grouting
in the diversion-spillway tunnel. All this
tunnel lining work must be completed prior to
the diversion of the river which is scheduled
now in about August. l'lith the completion of
this diversion then the actual excavation and
work on the dam can be started.

I

',-J

!-,-

Since your last meeting we have awarded a
contract in the amount of $15,436,000 for the
construction of Morrow Point Dam.
