.,j~bq.

people and we have had Bureau representatives at
Fort Morgan and other places where they have
discussed with the people their interests and
the possibilities that are inherent in those
plans.

I

I'le have started hydrologic data collection
in final form for the feasibility studies and
that work is going on by Bureau personnel. We
propose to put this hydrologic study on an
electronic computer because in the South Platte
Valley, as you all know, there is a very extremely
complicated hydrologic situation and if we can
put this on the computer we may get some very fine
results that way and save not only a lot of time
and money but come up with much more accurate
indications of future developments. We intend to
cover at least two critical periods in those
studies. That would be in the 1930's and in the
1950's.

On the Two Forks Dam and Reservoir proposal,
as you know we actually do not have at the present
time any federal money on that investigation
although we do have funds advanced by the State
of Colorado and some basin money so that we have
started some preliminary gathering of data and
getting ready so that if and when we get our
federal money at the beginning of this next fis-
cal year, we can get under way without a great
deal of delay there. We have a great deal of
information on the Two Forks site and that stretch
of the canyon which has been explored before and
the geologist has started to gather that data and
get it out of the files. Much of that work was
done many years ago and will have to be brought
up to date and reanalyzed, and so forth. So
that work has gotten under way.

I

On the Trinidad project we have reviewed the
operating principles, both the internal princi-
ples within the Trinidad District itself and the
principles for the operation on the stream. We
have gone through those with the staff of the
Water Board, with the State Engineer and his
staff, and we have a meeting scheduled for this
Friday, the 28th, to firm up those in final form
