I

On the studies of the possible integration
with the eastern slope facilities of the Frying-
pan-Arkansas Project and the Homestake Project,
which is a private development as you know, that
work has been going on and we expect to start
actual negotiations with the cities in the next
week or so at which time we can begin to firm up
the possible plans that may be utilized for those
integrations of the eastern slope features of
those two projects. Those discussions will be in
detail at that time. of course we have had gen-
eral discussions before, in the past, on it.

We've also initiated negotiations with the
State Engineer's office on the coordinating of
the river losses that will be occasioned in
transportation of water down through the Arkansas
River. We are getting that work started and
worked out.

We've also initiated studies on the storing
of Arkansas River winter water in the Pueblo
Reservoir. These are all preliminary studies
and analyses necessary to the preparation of
final designs of the project.

In our Denver Development Office the work on
the Narrows Reservoir continues and there it has
been concentrated principally on the survey by
the Colorado Water Conservation Board as to the
interest of downstream water users in purchase
of water from either of the two sites that may
finally be selected. I have no recent informa-
tion on that because actually the survey is being
run by the Board and perhaps the Director will
comment in more detail on that later. From news-
paper reports it appears that there is in the
neighborhood of 67,000 acre-feet that have been
tentatively signed up, not contractually but to
indicate their interest in the purchase of water
from a reservoir on the main stem. The latest
one to sign up such an indication would be the
North Sterling Ditch Company which is one of the
largest users down the river.
