tv",

are here now. We will now finish up
with item #2.

There are several in the room who
have come quite some distance to this
meeting who are vitally concerned about
the projects we talked about this morn-
ing.

I

MR. DUTCHER:

Mr. Dutcher is quite familiar with
the Curecanti Project. Would you like
to say anything at this time?"

"There is not too much that I have
to say except that we in the Gunnison
River Basin share in the disappointment
in the delay in the Curecanti Project.
We have a very vital situation in the
river basin itself. We have had the
impression that the project would be a
feasible project.

I believe the Legislature appro-
priated $lOO,OOO'for water studies not
too many years ago and I am wondering
if funds from that could not be used to
expedite this study if they have not
already been spent."

Dean Crawford explained that the unexpended por-
tion of the appropriation had been returned to the General
Fund but that there is about $50,000 available. that could
be used to advance the Curecanti report if the Bureau could
assure the State of such advancement. Mr. Larson replied
by saying that the Bureau would go into the whole plan to
see what could be done to advance the time of the report.

MR. PETERSON:

"There are two other points that I
would like to call to the attention of
Mr. Larson and Mr. Dexheimer. One is
that I don't believe if you are working
on the same report that you had pre-
viously that you have allowed suffi-
cient funds for flood control. This
should be increased in view of the
disastrous flood we had last year and
the still more terrible one of this
past summer.

I

I also think that you can probably
get more money for the potential electric
