,u~

Mr. McCandless asked how priorities come up
before the Board which was explained by Mr. Peterson who
said that the Yampa and White Rivers could have a priority
on them at this time. Dean Crawford suggested that the
Board have the Colorado River District give their recom-
mendations on all other projects in that report. Mr.
Philip Smith was called upon to give the priorities recom-
mended by the Colorado Rivet District which he did.

MR. NELSON:

MR. PETERSON:

MR. McCANDLESS:

I

"I also was asked by the South-
western Water Conservancy District to
prepare a similar list which I am
working on at the present time."

"This worries me a little bit.
In the past this Board' has set up a
list of priorities and passed them
to the Bureau as official, not only
State wide but Basin wide. I see no
reason why we could not set up Juniper
as #2 within the White and Yampa Basin.
That is, as #2 after Savery-Pot Hook."

"I move that the Juniper Project be
placed in second place on the priorities
in the Yampa-White River basins."

"Second the motion."

"How many other projects are there
in the Basin and how do they stand?"

"There are five other projects in
the White-Yampa but they should be con-
sidered in the overall picture."

"As to the 65% of the acreage in
Utah, would it come out of the 500,000
acre-feet given by Colorado? I would
like to have whoever made that motion
add that statement to the motion."

"I will reword my motion. I move
that the Juniper participating project
be approved by this Board and placed on
the priority list as number two in the
Yampa-White River basins and that what-
ever water is used from this project in
Utah be deducted from the 500,000 acre-
feet granted to Utah in the Upper Colo-
rado River Compact."

I
