On the St. Vrain unit of the Missouri River Basin Project the Regional Project Development Engineer and the Investigations I Engineer met with the Cache la poudre Steer- ing Committee on January 22. The Investiga- tions Engineer met with the Boulder Creek- St. Vrain Steering Committee on January 29. Both meetings were for the purpose of dis- cussing the results of the St. Vrain unit reconnaissance studies and to advance the proposal to enlarge the St. vrain feasibility studies to include the Cache la poudre area. A new name, the Front Range unit, would be adopted for the integrated unit. As to the Fryingpan-Arkansas project, the contractor for construction of Ruedi Dam has completed 92.5 percent of the con- tract with 96.9 percent of the contract time elapsed. This was as of February 29, 1968. The contract for clearing Ruedi Reservoir was completed and all clearing work was accepted by the Government on November 10, 1967. The contractor for construction of the Divide, South Fork, and Chapman Tunnels, Diversion Dams, and Appurtenant Structures of the South Side Collection System has com- pleted 77.3 percent of the contract with 78.1 percent of the allowed time elapsed. Approximately 23,622 feet have been ex- cavated, and approximately 4,889 feet remains to be excavated. Poor material has slowed drilling progress on the Divide Tunnel. To cope with this problem the con- tractor has installed a concrete plug at the heading and is in the process of grout- ing to stabilize the material. I The contractor for the Chapman Tunnel placed 306 feet of concrete curbing section, bringing the total placement to 14,330 feet - 267 feet of curbing remains to be placed.
