the Board?"

"Mr. Chairman, I have one 'brief question
of Mr. Crandall. I note that you are plan-
ning to plug the well on Piceance Creek that
is putting out a lot of salt. If this is
the well I am thinking about, it's on Colo-
rado Game, Fish and Parks property. I am
wondering if they are going to accept some
responsibility in regard to plugging this
well. They are quite interested in good,
clean water for fish and so forth and yet
this well is on their property. Have you
had any dealings with them?"

"We've had conversations with them, Mr.
Berthelson, and so far as I am informed the
state has not taken an interest in the form
of a financial contribution or assistance to
do this, although so far as right-of-way and
things like that we have their cooperation.

This proposition has not been fully
worked out yet and we certainly would more
than welcome any help that they would be
willing to give us in this enterprise."

"My only comment would be that it would
seem quite unusual that a state agency that
is contributing to the pollution of Piceance
Creek and the Colorado River certainly
shouldn't develop a realistic view and help
control their own activities in that
respect."
