SPARKS:

and got down into a saline aquifer and is
flowing? "

"Yes, it's an old oil well on their
property. "

I

"It should have been plugged."

"Well, somebody has been derelict in the
past, but since it is there and is contribut-
ing to the salinity of the basin, it seems
as though somebody should shoulder some
responsibility to start you people, I would
think. I could be mistaken."

"May I make a suggestion that if you
have any problems in working things out with
the Game, Fish and Parks, that you communi-
cate with Larry. I am sure this Board would
be anxious to gain the cooperation of a
fellow agency."

"All right. Thank you."

"Any questions from members of the
audience on Dave's report? Thanks very
much, Dave."

"Mr. Chairman, if I may I would like to
make one observation in connection with the
question you raised about the shortage of
construction funds. We have two very definite
casualties in western Colorado because of
lack ciffunding at the, present ,time. They
are the Crystal Reservoir and the Fruitland
Mesa Project. In addition to that, the
Savery-Pot Hook Project within another year
will be ready for construction and we can
place it in the casualty category at this
time also. This is a serious matter.

I

The Bostwick Park Project was also
placed in the no start category over a year
ago. It took great effort on our part to
get the funds released to get that construc-
tion started. We have faced this problem
