JUUU

there that is being replaced during this
winter and early spring period. Actually,
the stilling podl out of the chute is being
lined with stainless steel.

The Silt Project, as you recall, the I
Rifle Gap Dam was dedicated last September.
This is a long-term holdover reservoir and
we are acquiring water in it and there will
be some water supply available for the coming
season. It takes more than one season to
fill this reservoir, I understand.

Construction is proceeding on Silver
Jack Dam. I understood that as of yesterday
there was six or more feet of snow up there
and the contractor has not been able to reach
the site yet and because of the expectation
of a rather late start in the construction
season, he perhaps won't make all the progress
this fiscal year but it is expected that
that's not all bad because it is an austere
time and funds are a problem on all our
construction programs.

On the water distribution features of
the Bostwick Park Project, because of the
tight funds situation the water distribution
facilities may have to be prolonged.

On the operation of the Storage Project
reservoirs, we begin our forecasting based
on precipitation records in January. I
believe it is the 1st of March when we
actually get snow measurements which are
the basis of the forecast so there is that
distinction. But we had shown on the 1st
of March nearly normal conditions. The April-
July runoff was 7 million acre-feet. So far I
in March the precipitation has been less than
normal but then the storms come to the Colo-
rado individually and it isn't spread over a
long per iod of time,. We don't have much time
to get caught up for March and I expect the
forecast will be somewhat down from the 7
million acre-feet. This incidentally relates
