.

.

.

20
21
22
23
24
25

46

1 as to what the resolution of that issue might be. There are

2

opportunities unexplored of our Division of parks and Outdoor

3 Wildlife as to whether or not they might contribute funding to

4 a project that had public access and public recreation.

5 I think our hesitation is that we do not want to

6 leave the local entity with the impression that they can go

7 forward as now planned as long as this is not resolved to the

8 Board's satisfaction.

9

That's all I have by way of overview. I will answer

10 questions if we have any.

11

MR. JACKSON: Have we funded other reservoirs of

12 this kind where there were no recreational benefits?

13
14

MR. McDONALD: No, we have not. One was built from

scratch, but that was on Forest Service property, so that's

15 why this issue is new.

16 MR. JACKSON: What are you going to do about Bill
17 617

18 MR. McDONALD: Bill 67 could well get passed with

19 Meadow Creek in it. I do not think that's a problem, Bob,

because in our transmittal to the legislature recommending

that project, the conditions that the Board discussed in the

December meeting were included in that report. ~ therefore,

would consider the legislature on notice that until the Board

is satisfied as to those conditions, we will not enter into

contracts to build.
