COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD
823 State Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203

June 1981

APPLICATION - FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY

Hyannis Reservoir

The Hyannis Reservoir Company applied to the Colorado Water

Conservation Board (CWCB) for a reservoir project in March,

1980. The proposed project was submitted for the approval of

feasibility study funding at the December, 1980, Board meeting.

However, due to a lack of information at that time, the Board

deferred action.

In April, 1981, the staff received a reconnaissance

evaluation for this project, which evaluation had been prepared

by Rocky Mountain Consultants, Inc., of Estes Park, Colorado, at

the request of the Hyannis Reservoir Company. This evaluation

has been reviewed by the staff. Based upon the information

presented in this evaluation, it appears that this may be a

viable project. To satisfy our requirements for a feasibility

study, information will be needed on project financing; a few

points on storage rights, cost-benefit ratios and project costs

will need to be clarified; and, in general, more detail provided

on the analyses contained in the reconnaissance evaluation.

The proposed project would be an instream reservoir located

near the headwaters of the Middle Fork of Arapahoe Creek, a

tributary to Grizzly Creek in the North Platte River basin.
